A Sprague Dawley rat is a multipurpose breed of albino rat, used most commonly in medical research and testing. This female is used for breeding and gives birth to six to twelve pups at a time. In this research center, she doesn't have a nest, a surface to lie down on without feces, nor does she have a place to climb or burrow.
