A resistant cow is forcibly administered an oral calcium supplement at a dairy farm. She recently calved and is beginning her lactation period. The employee at the farm uses a balling gun (bolus gun) of almost one meter in length to force the supplement down into her throat. The production of colostrum and subsequent constant milk production will eventually cause dairy cows to become deficient in calcium, necessitating that they receive such calcium supplements. To keep her still while the supplement is administered, the employee pulls this cow's head back by inserting his fingers into her nostrils. Quebec, Canada, 2022. Julie LP / We Animals
