Description:
Farmed animals are transported by multi-tiered trucks from all across the European Union through the Bulgarian border into Turkiye, for slaughter. These photos were taken during the hotter summer months when animals can suffer from heat exhaustion, dehydration, injuries and, at times, death. With the animal advocacy organization Eyes on Animals, We Animals spent a week documenting the border crossings and the animals inside the trucks.
